Part Dimensions and Geometry
Provide accurate dimensions for the finished part, including overall length, width, and depth. CAD files (STEP or IGES format) are ideal, but dimensioned drawings are also perfectly workable. Include details of any specific features — ribs, channels, cut-outs, or surface textures — that are essential to the part’s function.
Material Requirements
Specify any material requirements relevant to your application. If the part will be used in a food contact or medical context, note the relevant standards. If transparency, impact resistance, chemical resistance, or temperature performance are important, say so. If you are unsure which material is appropriate, we can advise — but it helps to know the application environment.
Production Quantity
Specify the quantity you require — both the initial order and any anticipated future volumes. This influences tooling material selection, which in turn affects unit cost and lead time. A run of 50 parts is tooled differently to a run of 10,000.
Quality and Finish Requirements
Describe the required surface finish (gloss, matt, textured), colour, and any dimensional tolerances that are critical. If the part will be visible to an end consumer, note this — cosmetic standards for display parts are higher than for internal or structural components.
